However, the technical requirements from both the utility power system grid side and the PV system side need to be satisfied to ensure the safety of the PV installer and the reliability of the utility grid.
The grid-connected system consists of a solar photovoltaic array mounted on a racking system (such as a roof-mount, pole mount, or ground mount), connected to a combiner box, and a string inverter. The inverter converts the DC electrical current produced by the solar array, to AC electrical current for use in the residence or business.
The model represents a grid-connected rooftop solar PV system without an intermediate DC-DC converter. To parameterize the model, the example uses data from a solar panel manufacturer datasheet. Solar power is injected into the grid with unity power factor (UPF).
