For this study, the southern facade was selected as the optimal location for photovoltaic (PV) cell installation to maximize solar radiation exposure. While this choice can enhance the efficiency of the PV cells, it may also lead to increased demands for cooling and heating loads.
The physical properties of the photovoltaic curtain wall (roof) system mainly include wind pressure resistance, water tightness, air tightness, thermal performance, air sound insulation performance, in-plane deformation performance, seismic requirements, impact resistance performance, lighting performance, etc.
Conversely, BIPV entails integrating photovoltaics in place of another element, which can include using semi-transparent photovoltaic modules . In recent years, Building Integrated Photovoltaic Facades (BIPV) have been introduced as an effective solution for designing modern buildings and saving energy.
